Did you join us in Sydney on Saturday March 7? 

Numbers were down on the previous year, possibly due to the impact of the Mardi Gras parade occurring on the same day.  But it was a brilliant day and perfect weather for marching and the speakers were great and the artists were magnificent.  Hope you will be able to come along next year.

International Women’s Day Sydney is coming

International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.

The march and rally take place on the closest Saturday to March 8, so in 2009 it will be:

Theme:       WHY AREN’T WE THERE YET?

When:           Saturday  March 7, 2009

Where:          Assemble at Sydney Town Hall, George Street at 11am. 

March route:       along George Street, right into King Street, right into Elizabeth Street

Rally:             Hyde Park North.

MC at Town Hall:         Lisa Pryor

MC at Hyde Park:         Meredith Burgmann

Speakers:      covering current issues

Stalls:             Many community and organisation stalls
